These shoes are absolutely perfect for any graphic designer in your life: SeaVees and Pantone have teamed up to sell shoes in seven hand-picked colors from the first release of the Pantone Matching System, released in 1963. According to Pantone:

The palette, chosen from the only authentic guide known to exist, epitomizes the cool, casual style of California in 1963.

These shoes are limited to just 1,963 pairs and will be sold in exclusive boutiques. However, SeaVees is having a super secret sale on its website, allowing buyers to pick up a pair before Monday, November 24th. More information is available through Pantone’s page.

Do you have a photo that you think will look awesome on a pair of shoes? Zazzle has teamed up with Keds to allow you to upload photos or designs. Your designs are then printed on your choice of Keds shoes. Talk about unique kicks! So far, the shoes are limited to women’s and kids’ styles. I’m not sure if they’re planning to add men’s styles down the road.

Zazzle, CafePress and similar sites have created a sort of revolution in apparel. We can have clothing that looks like it was mass-produced — with low prices and decent quality, mass-produced isn’t always a dirty word — but with our own unique designs. It’s an interesting twist on the DIY approach.
