Foliage Leaf Earrings and Pendant Set

Beth Cummings, the designer behind Diffraction answered our questions this week. The earrings and pendant set above, by the way, started out as a set of photographs. Beth printed them on thick plastic and coated them with polyurethane to make an elegant and utterly unique piece.

1. What type of wearable art do you make?

I make photographic jewelry, comprised of images I’ve taken over the
years both abroad and in travels around the U.S.  The jewelry comprises
everything from sophisticated earrings to fun loving rings to nature
inspired necklaces to provoking bracelets.

2. How many of a kind do you make? Why?

Several of each design are made.  Why not?  I want people to love and
enjoy my jewelry and if two people on opposite ends of the world like
the same piece so be it!

3. Do you wear your own creations? Which is your favorite?

All the time!  I love the pieces I make and love to show them off.
Most often you can find me wearing my Feminine Leaf Pendant.  But I am
also in love with the Plumage Sliver Earrings when going out, or the
Harvest Apple Studs on an average day.  The Walk on Water Bracelet
holds significant meaning for me and is one of my earliest photographs.
I just love it!

4. Where can we find your work?

You can get Diffraction at boutiques in California, Florida and Chicago or online directly at www.diffraction.1000markets.com
