Solo Mode: the only damn one of our kind

Bursting at the Buttons

No Spares? by Sir Maxster.

This photo from sirmaxster, in the MAKE Flickr photo pool, highlights a super-easy way to give your clothes a unique touch — without having to make everything from scratch.

Just replace your buttons. You don’t need to stick with what you can find at the local sewing store, either. If you’ve got a drill, you can turn anything into a button. Just drill two holes — four if you want to make sure you won’t be losing your buttons — and sew them on to the clothing of your choice. This guy used a coin; I’ve seen plenty of weirder buttons, like a chunk of a tree or a small pebble.
